Hot water problem with whirlpool adg7540 dishwasher?

The cycle runs but the water does not get hot. My husband has taken the heater element out and connected it to a seperate 240 volt supply and it gets hot.He has also taken out the ntc and tested across the terminals and does get a reading on the ohms scale and a reading on the continuity mode but no bleep sound.i have had the cycle running and at the end the rinse light is on and the indicator light is flashing and bleeping.can anyone suggest anything please?. thanks
