Is $1 a week on lottery sensible?

That is how much I'm spending a week on voluntary tax, but I think it's pitiful that I or anyone is hoping on lottery win. It is a brief fantasy followed by a brief shattering of that fantasy. I am unable to think of way to make big money fast enough, so that is why I buy the lottery. Simply working hard is not going to get you the big numbers in this world. In the eyes of the ruling class that makes up the law makers, is lottery like a necessary poison?
